China Telecom are a global provider of VPNs, Data Networking Solutions, Cloud Infrastructure, IP Transit and Unified Communications to businesses across Europe and China.
China Telecom needed to update the existing website of their Europe division, in order to simplify the messaging & navigation as it was relatively complex. They came to Creative Brand Design looking for a fairly traditional website, built on a fully-featured & functional platform to allow for complicated information to be set out in a clear & understandable way.
We used WordPress CMS to provide the flexibility required for CTE, who are constantly reviewing content & adding new events and posts to the site.
The CTE IT team needed to be able to manage the website content themselves – as they would often be announcing new events, publishing news posts, amending page content & uploading new resources such as PDF files for download.
We harnessed the power of the Gutenberg block editor in WordPress, creating custom blocks to give CTE total control over page layouts & content. This provided the perfect platform for them to amend & create new pages, as well as publish new posts, without having to access a single line of code.
A requirement for the CTE website was an interactive map to display each of their office locations & contact details across Europe.
We designed a map using SVG to highlight the locations, and using Javascript to handle mouse and touch interactions we created the interactivity required on the front-end to give a satisfying and helpful user experience.
The CTE team are delighted with their new website, and how it communicated their content effectively & efficiently.
The Gutenberg block editor allows them to easily make updates without having to deal with complex code.
We also provide ongoing support for China Telecom, making continuous improvements and additions to the site.
